Over £3000 raised for charity

On Saturday 28th March 2009 we organised and held a charity event for the local Air Ambulance team.

It was a pleasure for us to do this, as it meant we were able to show our gratitude to them for saving the life of our drummer, Sandy Sutherland.

We would like to thank our supporting acts, Cool Remedy and Jock Davies for their help and dedication in making the evening the success it was. A big thank you goes to Stephen Foster of BBC Radio Suffolk for compereing the night as well as the publicity on his Introducing show during the weeks beforehand.

Cool Remedy got the evening off to a start with some smooth, soulful sounds filling the dancefloor, followed by Jock Davies with his own brand of comedy and music. Don't think people knew how to take him to start with but he soon had them in fits of laughter and singing and dancing. After the raffle and prize draw we took to the stage to a marvellous response and the singing and dancing continued.

Thanks must also go to Trevor Durrant Guitars of Colchester, Professional Music Technology in Southend and The John Russell Art Gallery to name just a few of the people that donated some wonderful raffle prizes.

Our biggest thanks must go to the 300+ people that attended the event. You made all the hard work worthwhile and it is your generosity that has enabled us to present the East Anglian Air Ambulance with a cheque for £3128. A great honour for us.

Due to its success we will be holding the event again next year. This will take place on Saturday 27th March 2010. Put it in your diary.

Hope to see you all again next year and once again thank you.
